Tewari, however, urged for a focus on regional trends rather than domestic politics. He highlighted political changes in Asian countries like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, noting public resistance against dynastic politics.

The BJP quickly connected Tewari's statements to Rahul Gandhi, labelling him as the "ultimate Nepo Kid of Indian politics." Amit Malviya from the BJP IT cell commented on X, "Forget Gen Z, even Congress's own veterans are fed up with his regressive politics. The revolt is now from within!" This reflects the ongoing tension between the two parties.

Political Dynamics and Social Media

Tewari dismissed these links, stating, "Gosh, I just wish that some people would grow up in life." He stressed that the issue should not be reduced to a Congress-BJP conflict but should focus on broader developments in South and East Asia. He also mentioned potential national security implications arising from these trends.

Rahul Gandhi recently praised India's Gen Z for defending the Constitution and preventing alleged "vote chori." His post came shortly after youth-led protests in Nepal led to the fall of KP Sharma Oli's government. The BJP accused Gandhi of trying to incite similar unrest in India, warning that young people oppose dynastic politics and corruption.

Congress Leadership Challenges

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey criticised Gandhi, saying, "Gen Z is against dynastic politics. Why would they tolerate Rahul after Nehru, Indira, Rajiv and Sonia? They are against corruption - why won't they drive you out?" Dubey suggested that Gandhi was provoking students and should expect backlash if Gen Z anger escalates.

Manish Tewari has been known for his outspoken nature within Congress. Despite being part of all-party delegations highlighting Pakistan's support for terrorism, he was excluded from speaking on Operation Sindoor in Parliament. Tewari shared a news report screenshot showing this snub alongside lyrics from a patriotic song.

Internal Reforms and Party Structure

When questioned about his cryptic tweet in Parliament, Tewari responded with a saying: "If you don't understand my silences, you will never understand my words." Sources revealed he had expressed interest in participating by writing to Rahul Gandhi's office but was not chosen by Congress leadership.

Tewari's stance reflects his advocacy for internal reforms within Congress. In August 2020, he was among 23 senior leaders who wrote to then-interim party chief Sonia Gandhi demanding organisational elections and stronger leadership. This push followed setbacks in Lok Sabha and state elections.

The call for reforms intensified after the 2019 Lok Sabha polls when Rahul Gandhi lost Amethi to BJP's Smriti Irani. Senior Congress leaders insisted on a more democratic setup amid a shrinking organisational base. Leaders like Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Kapil Sibal emphasised active leadership to revive party fortunes.
