Manish Sisodia Set to Return as Deputy Chief Minister if AAP Secures Victory in Delhi Elections

Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), announced that Manish Sisodia will be reinstated as Deputy Chief Minister if the party wins the upcoming Delhi assembly elections on February 5. This announcement was made during a public meeting in Jangpura, where Sisodia is contesting. Kejriwal encouraged voters to support Sisodia, promising that his leadership would benefit everyone.

Sisodia to Return as Deputy Chief Minister if AAP Wins

Sisodia, who previously served as Kejriwal's deputy, was arrested in March 2023 due to his involvement in the Delhi Liquor Excise Policy case. Despite being an MLA from Patparganj, he is now contesting from Jangpura. Kejriwal criticised BJP MLAs for allegedly hindering development in their constituencies during the current assembly term.

Development and Education Focus

Kejriwal highlighted the achievements of Sisodia in improving government schools for children's futures. He claimed that the BJP plans to close these schools if they come to power. "Manish Sisodia and I have together made government schools excellent for the better future of your children," he stated. He urged voters to choose between AAP's development agenda and BJP's alleged plans to shut down schools.

Addressing Jangpura voters, Sisodia promised significant governance changes if elected. He assured that winning would empower every resident, making them feel like Deputy Chief Ministers. "If I win from Jangpura, every brother and sister here will become Deputy CM," he said, emphasising that no one would obstruct local development efforts.

Electoral Contest

The AAP faces a challenging contest in Jangpura against BJP's Tarvinder Singh Marwah and Congress's Farhad Suri. The election results are set to be announced on February 8. Kejriwal reminded voters of past mistakes when BJP MLAs won eight constituencies but allegedly failed to deliver progress.

Kejriwal accused these BJP MLAs of turning their constituencies into difficult places to live by not allowing any work to proceed. He warned voters against repeating such mistakes by electing representatives who hinder development.

The outcome of this election will determine whether Sisodia returns as Deputy Chief Minister and whether AAP can continue its focus on education and development in Delhi. The party hopes to secure a mandate that allows it to implement its policies without obstruction.
