Accidental Firing in Southeast Delhi's Badarpur Injures 21-Year-Old Man; One Arrested

A 21-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound in Badarpur, Delhi, after a friend accidentally discharged a country-made pistol. The incident led to one arrest and the recovery of the weapon.

A 21-year-old man was injured by a gunshot when his friend accidentally fired a country-made pistol inside a flat in Southeast Delhi's Badarpur area, according to police reports. The victim, Krish Sharma from Jagmal Enclave in Faridabad, sustained a bullet wound to his left foot early on Friday.

Initially, a PCR call was made from Apollo Hospital at 5.26 am regarding a patient with a gunshot injury. Krish Sharma informed the doctors that he was shot in the Kalindi Kunj area. However, local investigations later revealed that the incident occurred inside a flat in Thandan Mohalla, Badarpur.

Accidental Shooting Incident

Krish Sharma was visiting an acquaintance named Rudra when he invited his friend Shubham Sharma, 22, from Badarpur, to join them. Shubham arrived at the flat around 2 am with a country-made pistol. While handling the weapon, it accidentally discharged, hitting Krish in the foot, according to a senior police officer.

After the shooting, Shubham and another associate quickly transported the injured Krish to Apollo Hospital using a car. The victim has an entry and exit wound in his foot and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Police Investigation and Arrest

The police have apprehended Shubham Sharma following the incident. They recovered the country-made pistol with one live round used in the shooting, along with the vehicle used to take Krish to the hospital. An FIR has been registered under relevant legal provisions, and further investigation is ongoing.
