Man Buys Wife From Patna For Rs 70,000, Strangles Her To Death For Often Eloping

The sequence of events began when a PCR call was received about the discovery of a woman's deceased body within a forest near the Jheel Khurd border in Fatehpur Beri on Saturday. Responding promptly, the police arrived at the scene, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Chandan Chowdhary, and took possession of the body.

An investigation was launched into the matter. Employing a combination of technical and manual surveillance, the authorities grew suspicious of an autorickshaw's movements around 1.40 am on that fateful Saturday. This led to the identification of the autorickshaw's registration number, and subsequently, the apprehension of its driver, Arun, who resided in Chhatarpur. He was detained near Gadaipur Band road.

Arun then divulged critical information to the police, identifying the deceased as Sweety, Dharamveer's wife. He confessed that he, along with Dharamveer and Satyavan, his brothers-in-law from Nangloi, had committed the act of strangulation near the Haryana border. Afterward, they disposed of Sweety's body within the forested area. Arun also revealed that Dharamveer had been dissatisfied with Sweety's behavior, which frequently involved her leaving home for extended periods without informing anyone.

The driver disclosed that he was well-acquainted with the terrain of the region, and it was Dharamveer's decision to carry out the crime and dispose of the body in the forested area.

Sweety had never discussed her family members or parents, aside from mentioning her origin in Patna, Bihar, according to the information provided by the accused.

In connection with the woman's murder, a case has been registered at Fatehpur Beri police station. The charges filed include sections 302 (murder), 201 (concealing evidence of an offense or providing false information to protect the perpetrator), and 34 (acting with a common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
