Man Sent to Jail for Abusing His Two Minor Daughters Over Five Years
A man has been detained and jailed for allegedly assaulting his two minor daughters over a span of five years, according to a senior police official. The police initiated an FIR after obtaining statements from the girls and their mother using a hidden camera. The mother initially hesitated to file a complaint due to societal pressure and fear of her husband.

The case was lodged at Sadar police station, with the investigation assigned to a senior officer. Deputy Commissioner of Police West Amit Kumar stated that on June 20, the mother took her daughters to the hospital due to severe stomach pain. Both girls were in poor condition, and the mother mentioned they were also experiencing mental distress.
Police Investigation and NGO Involvement
Upon inquiry by the doctor, the truth emerged. "The accused was arrested, presented before a court, and sent to jail," said Kumar. On June 21, the Association for Voluntary Action received information from Aasra Foundation about a woman wanting to discuss her daughters' abuse. The NGO then reached out to her.
The mother and daughters were taken to a secure location for counselling. It was discovered that their father had been abusing them. "We made an action plan, got the counselling videographed with a hidden camera as the woman had refused to register a case," Kumar explained.
Evidence Collection and Legal Proceedings
Chitrakoot Circle Inspector Antim Sharma was tasked with counselling the family alongside the NGO's presence. The NGO's report and counselling provided sufficient evidence for the police to file an FIR. Subsequently, the girls underwent medical examinations.
The medical board's findings confirmed the allegations, leading to the father's arrest. Investigations revealed that he had been committing these acts for five years. This case highlights the crucial role of NGOs in supporting victims and ensuring justice is served.
This incident underscores the importance of community support in addressing sensitive issues like child abuse. It also demonstrates how collaboration between law enforcement and NGOs can help bring perpetrators to justice while protecting victims.
