Shocking: Man commits suicide for Mani Rathnam's just released film 'O Kadhal Kanmani'

Coimbatore, April 21: A news of a man killing himself for Mani Rathnam's latest released movie 'O Kadhal Kanmani' shocked everyone.

The deceased, who has been identified as J Jaisankar, allegedly committed suicide as his girlfriend refused to accompany him to the just released movie which has become a major hit.

29-year-old Jaisankar, who was a sales executive in Coimbatore, was drunk when he called his girlfriend who works in an apparel in the city.

When she refused to go to watch the movie, Jaisankar allegedly threatened to commit suicide. Within a few hours, when the girl went to his house, she found his body hanging from the ceiling fan.

The girl broke down and later informed police. Peelamedu police informed that the shocking incident took place on Sunday, April 19.

Meanwhile, another woman committed suicide on the same day as her husband refused to go for a movie date with her.

While it seems that both the persons committed suicide in the ‘spur of the moment', experts believe that there could be long-standing issues between the two couples.
