Mamata Banerjee's nephew sustains head injury in road accident

Trinamool Congress MP Avishek Banerjee was seriously injured when his car met with an accident in Kolkata

Kolkata, Oct 18: Trinamool Congress MP and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew Avishek Banerjee was seriously injured when his car met with an accident on Durgapur Expressway in neighbouring Hooghly district on Tuesday, the police said.

"The accident occured at Ratanpur. He is being shifted to a nursing home in Kolkata," an officer manning the state police control room said.

Reports said he has sustained a head injury.

Avishek was returning to the city from Murshidabad, where he had gone to address a party programme.
