Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek threatens to gouge eyes, gets trolled on Twitter

Kolkata, June 23: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee once again made headlines. This time the young MP from Diamond Harbour irked everyone with his threatening message for the Opposition in the state.

While addressing a gathering at Basirhat area of North 24 Parganas, 27-year-old Abhishek said, "Those who dare to show their eyes, we will tear it out and throw it on the streets."

"If someone shows us their hands we will cut them off. But you have to remember that in democracy, it is the common man who will say the last word," added Abhishek.

A day after his controversial statement, micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded with comments and criticism against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP. #AbhishekBanerjee has been trending on Twitter since Tuesday morning.
