Malayalam Filmmaker Siddique On ECMO Support After Suffering Heart Attack
Noted Malayalam director and screenwriter Siddique has been admitted to a private hospital where he was already undergoing treatment for various health issues, according to hospital sources on Tuesday. His condition is currently described as critical.
Siddique experienced a heart attack on Monday while he was in the process of recovering from several ailments, including liver-related problems and pneumonia, during his stay at the hospital.

The accomplished filmmaker, recognized for his direction of numerous highly successful Malayalam movies, had been receiving medical care at the private hospital for more than a month due to his health challenges.
"Hospital sources confirmed that he is in critical condition and is being supported by ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation)," reported PTI. ECMO serves as respiratory assistance in cases where the individual's heart and lungs are not functioning adequately.
Siddique, who formed a successful partnership with his friend Lal, known as 'Siddique-Lal', delivered a series of blockbuster films. Their collaborations such as 'Ramji Rao Speaking', 'In Harihar Nagar', 'Godfather', 'Vietnam Colony', and 'Kabooliwala' garnered immense popularity.
Notably, Siddique's directorial credits include hit movies like 'Hitler', 'Friends', 'Chronic Bachelor', and 'Bodyguard', among others.
He also directed the Hindi remake of his film 'Bodyguard', starring Salman Khan, which achieved significant success. In the Tamil version titled 'Kavalan', starring Vijay, the movie fared well at the box office.
