Maharashtra Elections 2024: Yogi Adityanath's 'Batenge Toh Katenge' Posters Spark Buzz In Mumbai
In a striking development ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024, posters featuring Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the message "Batenge to Katenge" (If divided, we will be cut) have surfaced across Mumbai.
The posters, which emphasize the importance of unity and its impact on security and prosperity, are seen as a call to voters to avoid division ahead of the November 20 polls.

The message, written in bold red letters, is displayed against a vibrant background of saffron, yellow, and green, further carrying the sentiment: "If we stay united, we will be noble and secure." While the posters prominently feature CM Adityanath's image, they bear the name of Vishwabandhu Rai, who, according to BJP leader Ashish Shelar, holds no official position in the party.
Shelar clarified that the BJP did not put up the posters, but acknowledged that many in the community feel division in votes could hinder development efforts. He echoed the sentiment that unity is essential for prosperity, aligning with the theme of the posters.
The slogan has roots in a speech CM Yogi Adityanath delivered in Agra earlier this year, where he warned against the mistakes seen in Bangladesh. "If divided, we will be cut. If we stay united, we will be noble, secure, and reach the pinnacle of prosperity," he had said, referencing the turmoil in Bangladesh to stress the need for national unity.
The appearance of these posters has stirred conversations, as they come just weeks before the crucial state elections, potentially reflecting a broader narrative aimed at ensuring collective progress through unified voting.
