Maharashtra CM Pledges Retribution for Recent Anantnag Encounter Casualties
In a recent statement, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha vowed to avenge the death of Army and Police officers killed in a recent encounter in Anantnag. They assured that terrorists will be met with an appropriate response for their actions.
Unwavering Resolve Against Terrorism

The two leaders expressed profound grief over the unfortunate incident where Indian security forces lost their lives. "Our jawans, be it police or the Army, put their lives at risk to protect our borders. That is how we are able to celebrate our festivals and move on with our lives," said Shinde while addressing reporters after attending a function in Srinagar on September 17th. He further added, "Every citizen of the country condemns this incident and so do I."
Shinde also asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would ensure justice for these martyrs' sacrifice. He stated emphatically, "PM Narendra Modi will account for every drop of blood and the terrorists will be given a befitting reply."
Martyrs Remembered
The tragic encounter resulted in the loss of several brave hearts including Colonel Manpreet Singh, Commanding Officer of 19 Rashtriya Rifles; Major Ashish Dhonchak; Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat; as well as another soldier whose identity was not disclosed immediately.
A Call For Justice
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha echoed similar sentiments during his address to the gathering post-incident. He stressed upon avenging every drop of martyr's blood shed by terrorist activities in Jammu & Kashmir region.
"We have complete faith in the bravery of our soldiers," he reassured those present at the gathering before adding, "I want to assure that every drop of the martyrs' blood will be avenged and the terrorist handlers will have to pay a heavy price."
In conclusion, both leaders demonstrated an unwavering resolve against terrorism and pledged their commitment to maintaining peace and security in India. Their statements serve as a stark reminder of the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers on the frontlines for protecting our borders. The promise of retribution sends a clear message to those who threaten India's sovereignty - that they will face stern repercussions for their actions.
