Mahakumbh 2025: Central Hospital Welcomes 2 Newborns, UP Minister Names Them As Ganga And Kumbh
In preparation for the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela in January, a significant event occurred at the Central Hospital in Mahakumbhnagar, Prayagraj. On Monday, a baby girl was born there, following the birth of a baby boy on Sunday. The families have named the girl 'Ganga' and the boy 'Kumbh'. Both births were facilitated by the hospital's dedicated staff.
Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak expressed his congratulations to both families. He highlighted that the hospital is designed to cater to the millions expected at the Maha Kumbh. The 100-bed facility in the Parade area boasts an OPD, general ward, delivery centre, ICU, and operation theatre. It also has separate wards for men, women, and children.

Medical Facilities and Staff
The hospital is equipped with diagnostic centres like X-Ray, biochemistry labs, and ultrasound facilities. Pathak mentioned that 231 doctors across various specialisations are stationed at this hospital. These include surgeons, physicians, paediatricians, orthopaedicians, gynaecologists, radiologists, pathologists, anaesthetists, eye specialists, and dentists.
Shivkumari from Banda district gave birth to her daughter on Monday after being brought to the hospital due to labour pains. Similarly, Sonam from Kaushambi district delivered a baby boy on Sunday. Both mothers received timely medical care thanks to the hospital's efficient team.
Timely Medical Assistance
Sonam arrived at the hospital with her husband Raja after experiencing labour pains. They had come to the Maha Kumbh Mela area seeking work when she needed immediate medical attention. Women doctors examined her before admitting her for a successful delivery.
The Central Hospital's establishment aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services during the Maha Kumbh Mela. With its extensive facilities and skilled medical professionals, it ensures that visitors receive necessary medical care promptly.
