Mahakumbh 2025: 8 IITians Left High-Paying Jobs For Spirituality And Inner Peace
Mahakumbh 2025: In a world that often measures success by material gains and high-powered careers, there's a growing number of individuals from some of India's top engineering institutions who are taking a dramatically different path. They're leaving behind lucrative jobs and promising careers in technology and engineering to explore spirituality, meditation, and self-realisation.
These former engineers from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are now dedicating their lives to teaching others about finding inner peace and happiness not in the external world, but within oneself.

Rasnath Das, an alumnus of IIT and Cornell University, exemplifies this shift. After a stint on Wall Street, Das abandoned the allure of financial success to embark on a spiritual quest. Now, he guides others to seek inner serenity, emphasizing that true contentment comes from introspection and self-awareness.

Similarly, Khurshid Batliwala, with a master's from IIT Bombay, opted to leave the corporate world behind. Rather than climbing the corporate ladder, he now focuses on lifting others' spirits through spiritual and motivational talks.

Swami Mukundanand's journey took him from IIT Delhi and an MBA to renouncing the corporate scene for life in an ashram. His mission is aiding individuals in their search for spiritual tranquility through the organization he helps lead.

Aviral Jain, another IIT BHU graduate, turned his back on a high-paying job in 2019, choosing instead to delve into the "code of inner peace." He left his job at Walmart to become a monk and is now known as Muni Shri 108 Nisang Sagarji Maharaj. Today, he advocates for meditation and the journey towards self-discovery.

The quest for spiritual enlightenment also led Sanket Parekh, a chemical engineer from IIT Bombay, to abandon his career path. He now pursues self-realization through dedicated meditation and sadhana.

Mahan Mj, an IIT Kanpur graduate with an impressive AIR 67 in JEE, began his educational journey at St. Xavier's Collegiate School, Calcutta. Despite a promising career in engineering, he embraced monkhood, guided by a quest for deeper meaning and spiritual fulfillment.

Acharya Prashant, from IIT Delhi, went a step further by leaving behind not just his career but also his name. Presently, he assists individuals in unraveling the profound mysteries of life and spirituality, offering guidance through "Dharma Varta".

Radheshyam Das, after completing his master's at IIT Bombay, established the Adhyatmik Kendra in 1997, guiding millions towards spiritual growth since then.
