A madrasa teacher in Hyderabad was arrested on the charge of sexually assaulting six minor boys of the institute. Rehan, 23, who was teaching Arabic at the madrasa was arrested after a complaint was filed by the parents of the victims.
The parents filed the complaint on April 29 after some of the victims complained about the alleged harassment meted out to them by the teacher.
"The boys, aged between 10 and 12, were allegedly abused over the past few months, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashok Chakravarthy told PTI.
A case under IPC section 377 (unnatural offences) and other provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered, he said.
The teacher has been remanded to judicial custody by a court, Chakravarthy said. Further investigation into the matter is on.
