Madhya Pradesh Police Delegation Visits Prayagraj to Learn Security Measures for 2028 Kumbh in Ujjain
A team from the Madhya Pradesh Police visited Prayagraj for two days to learn about security and crowd control strategies from their Uttar Pradesh counterparts. This visit was part of their preparation for the 2028 Kumbh in Ujjain. The delegation, which included senior officials, aimed to understand various security aspects, including AI use, cybercrime prevention, and crowd management.

During the visit, the Madhya Pradesh Police delegation engaged in meetings with Uttar Pradesh officials. These discussions focused on security measures and preparations for the Kumbh Mela. The team also explored key locations in the Kumbh Mela area to observe preparations firsthand. This visit was crucial for gathering insights into effective security arrangements.
Security Measures and Coordination
Tarun Kaushik, a deputy inspector general in Madhya Pradesh's Anti-Terror Squad, commended the Uttar Pradesh Police model. He suggested that other states should adopt similar practices. Kaushik highlighted the importance of coordination between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh Police during the 2028 Kumbh in Ujjain.
The delegation received a comprehensive briefing on various aspects of security management. Assistant Commissioner of Police Dhoomanganj Rajkumar Meena stated that discussions covered law and order, traffic management, and crowd control. The focus was on ensuring safety and convenience for an estimated 40 crore devotees expected to attend.
Insights from Uttar Pradesh Police
The Madhya Pradesh team toured the Integrated Command and Control Centre and other significant locations within the Kumbh Mela area. This tour provided them with valuable insights into how Uttar Pradesh manages large-scale events effectively. The state government emphasized the importance of these observations for future planning.
Kaushik also praised the efforts of the Uttar Pradesh Police over the past three years. He noted their attention to personnel needs at all levels, which has contributed to successful event management. This experience will be instrumental in shaping Madhya Pradesh's approach to handling large gatherings like the Kumbh Mela.
The collaboration between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh Police is expected to enhance security measures for future events. By learning from successful models, Madhya Pradesh aims to ensure a safe and well-organized Kumbh in 2028. The exchange of knowledge and strategies will play a crucial role in achieving this goal.
