Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Jit Patwari Slams BJP, Says Akshay Kantilal Bam "Threatened And Tortured"
A day after the Congress candidate for Lok Sabha from Indore, Akshay Kantilal Bam, withdrew his nomination, Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Jit Patwari leveled serious allegations against the BJP on Tuesday stating the saffron front threatened the Congress candidate and forcefully made him take his name back. Criticising the state-ruling BJP and Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Patwari cried the foul play.
Addressing the media, Jitu Patwari said Akshay Kantilal Bam was "threatened and tortured" after which he withdrew his nomination. He added that by misusing powers BJP made investigating agencies add charges of attempt to murder in an old case against the Congress leader who has now switched sides.

"Three days ago, IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) was added to an old case against Bam. He was threatened. He was tortured in different ways for the whole night. And today, he has withdrawn his nomination," news agency PTI quoted Patwari as saying.
Akshay Bam, his father Kantilal, and others were accused in a case that was registered in October 2007.
Patwari also alleged that the BJP is trying to force anarchy in the country and do not want the people of Indore to use their voting power and remove them from the chair.
"What is the message in all this? Don't people from Indore have the right to use their vote? If you believe in democracy, please stand up against this dictatorship. This is not just about Congress and BJP. Anyone who wants to vote, and keep reservations and the Constitution strong must stand up," Patwari said.
A day ago, BJP stalwart Kailash Vijayvargiya shared a picture with Akshay Kantilal Bam after he took his nomination back and welcomed him to the saffron party.
