Lucknow to Transform into 'Mini India' for the 19th National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides

The 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides in Lucknow will gather over 33,000 participants from India and the Asia-Pacific region. The event features cultural showcases, scientific experiences, and aims to create a 'mini India' atmosphere.

Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for its largest youth event in decades. The 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides is set to attract over 33,000 participants. This event will be held in the state capital for the first time in 61 years. It will take place from November 23 to 29 at the Defence Expo Ground in Vrindavan Yojana.

The jamboree will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the organisation. It will feature delegates from India and the Asia-Pacific region. According to an official statement, representatives from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Afghanistan, and other Asia-Pacific countries will attend. This gathering marks a significant milestone for the organisation.

Event Highlights and Facilities

A blend of cultural displays and scientific activities will be a major attraction this year. The Department of Science and Technology plans to create a temporary planetarium within the tent city. This setup will allow children to observe solar movements during the day and stars at night using telescopes.

To accommodate the large number of attendees, enhanced communication and health facilities are being established. The Ministry of Telecommunications is setting up a dedicated tower to ensure seamless connectivity for over 40,000 people at the venue. This measure aims to provide uninterrupted communication throughout the event.

Security and Health Measures

Security arrangements are being intensified for this prominent gathering. The health department has prepared a temporary hospital with 100 beds, offering equal facilities for men and women. Additionally, there will be 15 dispensaries operating round-the-clock to cater to medical needs.

Approximately 50 doctors and 100 paramedical staff will work in shifts. They will be supported by ambulances and reserved ICU and general beds at nearby hospitals for emergencies. These preparations aim to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during the jamboree.

Infrastructure Preparations

The venue is being transformed into a mini India as per Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's instructions. State-wise accommodation blocks are being set up along with a central arena for major ceremonies. A temporary market and food court offering regional cuisines are also part of the plan.

Preparations for the central arena, tent accommodations, and other infrastructure are nearing completion. Over 30,000 scouts and guides, along with 1,500 international and national leaders, are expected to arrive soon. These efforts are crucial to ensuring a successful event.

The upcoming jamboree promises a unique blend of culture and science while celebrating a significant milestone for Bharat Scouts and Guides. With comprehensive preparations underway, Uttar Pradesh is ready to host this grand event successfully.
