She said although she encourages good relations among members, Gandhi's action affected the decorum of the House.

"I want all of you to live in harmony; Rahulji is like my son," she said in the context of pulling up Congress President.

After a no-holds barred and scathing criticism of Modi on several issues including Rafale jet deal today, Congress president Rahul Gandhi walked across the green-carpeted well of Lok Sabha to Modi and hugged him, a gesture which took the Treasury Bench members by surprise.

Gandhi's unexpected gesture, which quickly became a favoured video clip for television channels, came during a debate on no-confidence motion moved by the TDP against the Modi government.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi made a serious allegation against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on the floor of Lok Sabha while debating on the no confidence motion moved by the TDP against the Centre.

Rahul Gandhi said the Defence Minister told the country that the price of Rafale jets cannot be disclosed due to a secret pact with France.

The Amethi MP said when he met the French President in Delhi, Emmanuel Macron had told him that there was no such secret pact. "The Defence Minister lied to the country. Whom is she trying to protect? She must tell that to the country. She has spoken an untruth," Rahul Gandhi said.
