Two individuals accused in the Lok Sabha security breach revealed their intention to replicate the iconic act of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, seeking to highlight perceived corruption within the Indian government.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident that breached the security of the Lok Sabha, two individuals, identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, attempted to replicate the actions of the legendary freedom fighter Shaheed Bhagat Singh within the House. This revelation came to light during the police investigation into the incident that occurred on Wednesday.

Pamphlet Recovered, Accused Planned to Throw Pamphlets

During the investigation, authorities recovered a pamphlet from the possession of the accused that depicted the Prime Minister as missing and offered a reward from a Swiss bank to anyone who could find him. This adds another layer of intrigue to the already concerning security breach.

The accused had meticulously planned their actions, intending to throw pamphlets inside the Parliament after using smoke bombs to create a diversion. They had even procured tricolours, further indicating their intentions.

Specially Designed Shoes Used to Conceal Smoke Canisters

In a concerning revelation, police sources disclosed that the accused had specially designed their shoes to conceal smoke canisters. Cavities were cleverly crafted within the footwear, allowing them to carry and deploy the canisters without raising suspicion.

Inspiration from Bhagat Singh's Revolutionary Act

During interrogation, the accused revealed their deep admiration for Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his revolutionary actions. They sought to emulate his act of throwing feeble bombs inside the Central Assembly in Delhi during the British rule in 1929.

Social Media Posts Reflect Admiration for Bhagat Singh

A closer examination of the accuseds social media posts revealed their profound inspiration from Shaheed Bhagat Singh. They had even created a page on social media called Bhagat Singh Yuva Fan Club, which has since been deleted. Their intentions were to convey a message to the government regarding issues such as the farmers agitation and the Manipur crisis.

Bank Accounts Scanned, Anti-Terror Law Invoked

As part of the ongoing investigation, the police have thoroughly scanned the bank accounts of all the accused to ascertain any potential funding sources for their actions. The gravity of the situation is reflected in the charges against them, which include provisions under the stringent anti-terror law UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) and various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Accused Remanded to Police Custody

In a significant development, a Delhi court granted the police custody of the four accused for seven days to facilitate further interrogation. The accused were produced before Special Judge for NIA cases Hardeep Kaur by the city police, who had sought their custodial interrogation for 15 days.
