Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Pappu Yadav Joins Congress, Likely To Contest From Madhepura Seat
Jan Adhikar Party chief Rajesh Ranjan aka Pappu Yadav on Wednesday officially joined the Congress party and announced the merger of his political outfit. With a political career spanning five terms as a Member of Parliament from Bihar, Yadav, who is married to Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ranjeet Ranjan, holds significant influence in the Seemanchal region of the eastern state.
Accompanied by his son Sarthak Ranjan and other party leaders, Yadav made the announcement at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters.

Expressing his reasons for joining the Congress, Yadav emphasized the respect accorded to him by the party's leadership. He cited his decision as part of the larger struggle against what he perceives as "dictatorship" in the country, with the aim of safeguarding democracy and upholding the Constitution.
Yadav praised Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, asserting that Rahul Gandhi, in particular, has garnered significant public support and addressed the concerns of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) by advocating for a caste census.
Yadav reiterated his commitment to joining Rahul Gandhi's efforts in confronting what he views as a dictatorial regime, emphasizing the necessity of this alliance to protect the nation's democratic values and constitutional framework. Mohan Prakash, the Congress affairs in-charge for Bihar, was also present during Yadav's declaration.
Looking ahead, Yadav expressed confidence in the Congress's prospects, asserting their readiness to secure victory in both the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the subsequent 2025 assembly polls. He extended gratitude to Mallikarjun Kharge, the national president of the Congress, as well as Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for their support. Yadav affirmed his dedication to strengthening the Congress party, pledging to exert maximum effort towards this goal.
