LS Polls 2024: BJP Fields Bommai From Haveri, Tejasvi Surya From Bengaluru South; Prathap Simha Loses Seat

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its second list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. The list, released on Wednesday, comprises 72 candidates who will represent the party in various constituencies across the country.

Among the prominent names featured in the second list are Basavaraj Bommai, who will contest from Haveri, Pralhad Joshi, who will contest from Dharwad, and Tejasvi Surya, who will contest from Bengaluru South constituency.

1. Maharaja of Mysore Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar: In a surprising development, the BJP has fielded Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the Maharaja of Mysuru, as its candidate. He will contest from a significant constituency, marking his entry into active politics. This decision has garnered considerable attention, indicating the BJP's strategic approach in the region.

2. Bengaluru North: Sitting MP Shobha Karandlaje on Udupi-Chikkamagaluru seat from Coastal Karnataka, has been replaced by Kota Srinivas Poojary. Karandlaje will now contest from Bengaluru North constituency.

3. Bengaluru Rural: Dr. CN Manjunath, a renowned cardiologist associated with Jayadeva Hospital, has been selected to represent the BJP in Bengaluru Rural. Dr. Manjunath's expertise in the medical field and his commitment to public service make him a strong candidate to contest against DK Suresh.

4. Bengaluru Central: PC Mohan, the sitting Member of Parliament, will continue to represent the BJP in Bengaluru Central. With his experience and dedication to the constituency, Mohan aims to secure another term in office.

5. Shivamogga: BY Raghavendra, the son of former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, will be the BJP's candidate from Shivamogga. With a strong political lineage and grassroots support, Raghavendra seeks to maintain the BJP's stronghold in this constituency.

Moreover, the announcement marks the end of Pratap Sihma's tenure as the sitting Member of Parliament, indicating a shift in the party's strategy.

The notable candidates featured in the second list include Ashok Tanwar (Sirsa), Manohar Lal Khattar (Karnal), Chaudhary Dharambir Singh (Bhiwani-Mahendragarh), Rao Inderjit Singh Yadav (Gurgaon), Anurag Singh Thakur (Hamirpur), Bharati Pravin Pawar (Dindori), Pankaja Munde (Beed), DK Aruna (Mahbubnagar), Trivendra Singh Rawat (Haridwar), Anil Baluni (Garhwal), Nitin Gadkari (Nagpur), and Piyush Goyal (Mumbai North).

As the election fervor intensifies, all eyes will be on these candidates as they embark on their campaign trails, vying for the trust and support of the electorate.
