Lok Sabha Election Prediction: Under Fire Prashant Kishor Shields Himself With Yogendra Yadav's Forecast
Days after coming under attack from a section of netizens for predicting the BJP's win in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, leading political analyst Prashant Kishor has now shared psephologist Yogendra Yadav's forecast for this elections, indicating that the ruling party possibly come to power again.
Kishor has shared a video clip of Yadav and wrote, "@_YogendraYadavji, a trusted face among those who understand elections and socio-political issues in the country, has shared his "final assessment" of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. According to Yogendra ji, in these elections, BJP may get 240-260 seats and NDA allies may get 35-45 seats. Meaning BJP / NDA may get 275-305 seats."

He further stated, "272 seats are required to form a government in the country and BJP/NDA has 303/323 seats in the outgoing Lok Sabha. (Shiv Sena won 18 seats as part of NDA but is no longer with them) Now you can judge for yourself whose government is being formed. You will know on 4 June who is talking about whom."
In several of his interviews, Kishor had claimed that the BJP would get more than what it had won in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
In one of the interviews, he stated, "In all likelihood, the BJP will make a strong comeback, improving their electoral tally." He specifically pointed out the party's strength in the West and North regions, foreseeing minimal impact on their prospects. Also, Kishor noted a surge in the BJP's voter share and seat count in the East and South.
It comes at a time when reports and analysts claim that the BJP is unlikely to get a majority and the first few phases have not gone well for the ruling party.
However, Kishor declined to delve into state-wise predictions. Despite his positive outlook for the BJP, he remarked that the Modi brand has experienced a decline, with its influence waning.
Nonetheless, the opposition parties called him the BJP agent. "Even my uncle (Nitish Kumar) had said that he made Prashant Kishor the national vice president (of JDU) at the behest of Amit Shah. Till date, neither Amit Shah nor Prashant Kishor has denied the claim. He has been with the BJP since the beginning. Whichever party he joins will be ruined," RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said.
Kishor had first came to light after working with Narendra Modi in the 2012 Gujarat elections and 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Thereafter he worked with Nitish Kumar in the Gujarat assembly elections, Jagan in the Andhra assembly polls, MK Stalin in the Tamil Nadu assembly polls and Mamata Banerjee in the Bengal assembly elections. However, he is now the head of political party Jan Suraaj which is hoping to win the next assembly polls.
On the other side, Yogendra Yadav has been repeatedly claiming that the BJP will not get the majority and will lose over 50 seats that it had won in the last general elections.
