The key members of the committee include Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief JP Nadda, state party chief Sukanta Majumdar, MP Dilip Ghosh, Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari, Rahul Sinha, Amitabh Chakraborty, Satish Dhand, Mangal Pandey, and Asha Lockra.

Additionally, the committee comprises five general secretaries: MP Locket Chatterjee, Agnimitra Paul, representing Asansol South in the state assembly, Jagannath Chatterjee, Jatirmoy Singh Mahat, and Deepak Burman.

On their visit to Bengal, Amit Shah and JP Nadda also visited and offered prayers at Gurudwara Bara Sikh Sangat in Kolkata on the occasion of Veer Baal Diwas.

West Bengal comprises 42 Lok Sabha constituencies. In the 2019 elections, the Trinamool Congress triumphed in 22 seats, while the BJP emerged as a formidable contender, winning in 18 seats. The Congress secured victory in the remaining two constituencies.

The saffron front is leaving no stone unturned ahead of the 2024 polls, focusing on the seats that they lost in the last elections. According to the reports, Shah has set up a target to win 35 out of the 42 Lok Sabha seats, and today all the party members planned strategies to achieve the target.

On the other hand, Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee led a protest and demanded an apology from the BJP state chief Sukanta Majumdar for his recent comments on Swami Vivekanand.
