The Lok Sabha elections of 2024 are in progress today, which signifies Phase 2 of the voting process. A total of 89 constituencies across 13 states and union territories are participating in today's electoral activities. Voting commenced at 7 AM and is scheduled to conclude at 5 PM. However, in specific regions of Bihar, polling hours have been extended until 6 PM to facilitate voters, considering the prevailing hot weather conditions.

A few of them have made direct appeals during interviews with journalists, while others have subtly conveyed the importance of participation simply by partaking in the electoral process.

National Award-winning actor-turned-politician, Prakash Raj casts his vote at a polling booth in Bengaluru. He was one of the early voters. After casting his vote, he proudly displayed his inked finger and urged the public to do the same.
He says, "My vote represents my right and my power to choose who represents me, who will be my voice in the Parliament... It is crucial to select a candidate whom you believe in, and I have voted for the candidate I trust and for the manifesto they have presented, aiming for change amidst the divisive politics witnessed in the last decade."
In the Bhagalpur constituency of Bihar, another actor, Neha Sharma, was spotted outside a polling station. Speaking to journalists, Neha stated, "This is a very important day...I request people that this is a very important right that we have. Her father, Ajit Sharma, is a contestant on the Congress ticket in Bhagalpur district.
Similarly, Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep expressed his views after participating in the voting process in Bengaluru today. "It is a big day. Voting is a hope, not an assurance. The problems are rising in our country. Now, the request should not be for people to come out to vote but for the political leaders for whom we are voting," he stated.

Another former cricketer Javagal Srinath voted at a polling booth in Mysuru today. He says, "It is our right to come and vote. We want the people to come out and vote...I am glad that more than 50% of voting has happened so far...I think people should come out. Voting is important..."
