It was further mentioned that it will be live-streamed on social media platforms of the ECI. The Lok Sabha elections in 2019 were conducted in seven phases from April 11 to May 19, with the results being declared on May 23. In the 2019 polls, a total of 303 seats were won by the BJP-led National Democratic (NDA), with the grand-old party trailing behind at 52 seats.

Earlier on Wednesday, it was stated by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar that the decision on holding Lok Sabha Elections and Assembly Elections together or separately in Jammu and Kashmir will be made by the poll body after reviewing the security situation.

The announcement of candidates for the general elections has already commenced by political parties. Two lists of candidates have been released by the BJP, while Congress has also released two lists of candidates for the polls. Meanwhile, data on electoral bonds was uploaded by the Election Commission on March 14 on its website, as received from SBI.

Future Gaming and Hotel Services and Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd were among the top donors to political parties. Various petitions challenging amendments made to different statutes through the Finance Act 2017 and Finance Act 2016 on the ground that they have opened doors to unlimited, unchecked funding of political parties were filed before the top court.
