Lok Sabha Election 2024: Check Out the List of Celebs Who Cast Their Votes in the Final Phase

Polling for the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections started at 7 AM today. This marks the end of the largest democratic process to elect 543 representatives for the 18th Lok Sabha.

People are voting in 57 constituencies across seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. They will decide the future of 904 candidates running for office. Campaigning ended on Thursday with major leaders holding large rallies nationwide.

One of the main candidates in the 2024 Lok Sabha election is Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. She is running for the Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh on a Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) ticket, competing against Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh, son of the late former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Virbhadra Singh. After casting her vote, Ranaut shows her ink finger and speaks to reporters outside her polling booth. She says, "I have just voted. I urge everyone to participate in this festival of democracy and exercise their right to vote. There is strong support for PM Modi in Himachal Pradesh. I am hopeful that the people of Mandi will support me and that we will win all 4 seats in the state. Himachal Pradesh's 4 seats will help us achieve '400 plus' seats overall." This is Ranaut's first time running in an election. After voting, she also prayed at the BJP office in Mandi.

Another face from the film industry who is also active in politics is Nusrat Jahan, a Bengali actress-turned-politician. She is a Member of Parliament, representing the Basirhat constituency in the Lok Sabha as an All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate.

She casts her vote at a polling booth in Kolkata. She tells a news agency, ANI, "Voting is our right, and we have to exercise our franchise. Everyone is coming to cast their vote. Voting is going on well and peacefully, so we are expecting the best."

On the male counterpart, Mithun Chakraborty, a Bollywood actor and former Member of Parliament from West Bengal, also shows up at the polling booth to vote. "I am a BJP cadre, done my duty," says Chakraborty after casting his vote. Interestingly, Chakraborty transitioned from the TMC to the BJP in March 2021.

Another bright star, Shatrughan Prasad Sinha, a Member of Parliament, representing the Asansol seat on the TMC ticket while interacting with the ANI says, "INDIA bloc is going to win. Now, it is 'Mudda' v/s 'Modi. No guarantees of PM Modi has become a reality...PM Modi's credibility has been lost. With my experience, I can say that BJP and its allies will not even be able to reach 150-200 seats..."

Going further, Deepak Adhikari, a Bengali movie star and Member of Parliament from the Ghatal seat in West Bengal casts his vote in Kolkata. After casting his vote, he shared his thoughts with the ANI, "..The country is bigger than any political party..."

Among the young actor-turned-politicians list, Mimi Chakraborty is a well-known name. She is a Member of Parliament, representing the Jadavpur constituency in the Lower House. She casts her vote at a polling booth in Kolkata and says, "We have been casting a vote after turning 18. I voted this time too. I urge everyone to go out and vote. This is our right."

From the BJP side, Kirron Kher, a Bollywood female actor cum Member of Parliament, representing Chandigarh in the Lok Sabha also shares her opinion with the reporters, "I told them 3 months ago that I do not want to contest elections this time. People will remember me for the next 10 years. I was living in Chandigarh and was completely accessible for everyone..."

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, known for raising social issues via his films shows the indelible ink mark on his finger after voting at a polling booth in Chandigarh. He says, "I came back to my city to cast my vote and exercise my right...Mumbai recorded a very low voter turnout this time but we should cast our vote...We don't have a right to complain if we don't vote..."

Actor and Chandigarh's state icon for Lok Sabha polls, Samaira Sandhu also shows the indelible ink mark on her finger after voting at a polling booth in Chandigarh.

Furthermore, Bollywood actress Gul Panag shows her inked finger after casting her vote in Punjab.

Apart from the film industry, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh casts his vote in the last and final phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The counting of votes is scheduled for June 4, when the results will be known on the same date.
