LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: PM Narendra Modi Launches Women Empower Scheme In Panipat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana in Panipat, Haryana. This initiative aims to empower over 1 lakh women across India by offering them roles as LIC agents. Women aged 18 to 70 can now enhance their financial independence and literacy through this scheme.
During the event, PM Modi highlighted the need to eliminate societal barriers that restrict women's progress. He remarked, "There were many such tasks that were prohibited for women in the past. The BJP has decided to remove every obstacle from our daughters' paths, ensuring that they can flourish in every field." This reflects the government's dedication to promoting gender equality.

Significance of December 9
The Prime Minister also noted the importance of December 9, linking it to both the Bima Sakhi Yojana and India's history. He mentioned that the number 9 is considered auspicious in Indian scriptures, symbolizing empowerment and strength through Goddess Durga's nine strengths. Furthermore, December 9 marks the anniversary of India's first Constituent Assembly meeting.
PM Modi commended Haryana for adopting the slogan "Ek Hain Toh Safe Hain" ("When we are united, we are safe"). He praised it as a model of unity and safety that could inspire other states. The launch coincided with the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra, celebrating Bhagavad Gita's teachings.
Empowering Women Through Financial Inclusion
The LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana is a significant step towards empowering women by promoting financial inclusion. By becoming LIC agents, women can gain financial independence and improve their literacy levels. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to support women's roles in various sectors.
This move is part of a larger strategy to ensure women have equal opportunities in all fields. By removing obstacles, the government aims to create an environment where women can thrive without limitations.
The launch of this scheme highlights a commitment to fostering gender equality and empowering women across India. It represents a crucial step towards creating a more inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities for growth and success.
