'Learn from Rahul': Priyanka Gandhi to PM on his Cong abused '91 times' claim

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Sunday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to learn from her brother Rahul Gandhi, saying the former party president was willing to give his life for the country.

Learn from Rahul: Priyanka Gandhi to PM on his Cong abused 91 times claim

Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claims that he was abused 91 times by Congress, Priyanka Gandhi said, "I have seen the first such Prime Minister who says in front of the public that he is being abused. The PM does not have a list of problems faced by the public but a list of abuses. Modi ji, learn from my brother, who (Rahul Gandhi) says 'Gali kya mein desh ke liye goli kha lunga'."

She claimed that her family too has been abused by the BJP countless times. "If I start counting the number of abuses hurled at my family and the personal name-calling that the BJP has indulged in, I may have to get multiple books published," she stated at a rally in Jamkhandi.

The Congress General Secretary accused the Prime Minister of not worrying about the struggles of people, but "comes crying to you to gain sympathy".

Addressing a public rally at Humnabad in Bidar district on Saturday, the PM said that the Congress has hurled abuses at him 91 times as he has cut its "sources" of corruption.

"Someone has made a list of such abuses against me and it has been sent to me. Till now, Congress people have abused me 91 times with different types. Had Congress people put efforts in good governance and boosting the morale of its workers, instead of wasting time on this dictionary of abuses, it would not have been in such a pathetic plight," he said.

However, Priyanka also attacked Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai over corruption. "The Karnataka Chief Minister is only interested in how he can make a 40 per cent commission. The state of Karnataka has been plundered by empty promises of a double-engine government. It is time to teach these "jumlebaaz" leaders a lesson and vote them out of power in Karnataka," the Congress leader said.
