Landslide In Kedarnath Claims 3 Lives, Injured Rushed To Hospital
In Uttarakhand's Kedarnath, a landslide triggered by heavy rains today resulted in the deaths of at least three devotees, including two from Maharashtra, officials reported.
The accident occurred on a route between Gaurikund and Chirbasa in Kedarnath, a town in Rudraprayag district known for the famous Kedarnath Temple.

The third victim was identified as a resident of Rudraprayag district. Eight others were also injured in the incident.
According to Rudraprayag's District Magistrate, "Devotees were buried under the debris at Chirbasa on the Kedarnath Yatra route. Teams of the State Disaster Response Force and District Disaster Response Force are carrying out rescue operations."
Efforts are ongoing to reduce injuries and prevent further loss of life.
"The district administration continuously requests travellers to stay in a safe place," the senior official added.
Earlier in the day, the Gangotri National Highway near Bishanpur was closed due to a landslide.
Heavy rains over the past few weeks have caused multiple landslides, blocking key highways in Uttarakhand.
