Musical Journey and Environmental Message

Shantanu Moitra, a composer and WWF-India's Hope & Harmony Ambassador, enthralled attendees with music inspired by his 2,700-km journey along the Ganga river. Reflecting on his performance, Moitra shared, "As an artist and environmentalist, it has been an exciting evening to address a crowd full of nature and conservation enthusiasts. I carry many stories and tunes from my journey along the river Ganga, and there could not have been a better time and stage to deliver them than WWF-India's Earth Hour Festival 2025."

Bharat Lal, Secretary-General and CEO of the National Human Rights Commission, delivered a compelling speech. He highlighted the vital connection between environmental sustainability and human rights. His address emphasized the importance of integrating these two aspects for a better future.

Panel Discussion on Water Conservation

The festival included a panel discussion featuring cultural experts like Tarana Sawhney, Chairperson of the Confederation of Indian Industry's Task Force for Art and Culture; Ratish Nanda, CEO of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture India; and historian Vikramjit Singh Rooprai. They explored water conservation through art, architecture, and heritage perspectives.

Sawhney highlighted the urgent need for sustainable water practices. She stated, "As India faces increasing water scarcity due to rapid urbanisation, climate change, and over-exploitation of water resources, the need for sustainable water management has never been more critical." Her remarks underscored the pressing challenges posed by these factors.

The Earth Hour Festival 2025 successfully brought together various stakeholders to discuss crucial environmental issues. By focusing on water conservation and sustainability, it aimed to inspire action among individuals and communities. The event served as a platform for sharing ideas and fostering collaboration in addressing environmental challenges.
