Lakshmivara Tirtha Swami death: Police takes control of Shiroor Mutt for 3 days

    Udupi, July 19: Udupi Police took control of Shiroor Mutt for three days to collect evidence regarding the death of Lakshmivara Tirtha Swami on Thursday. Public entry has been banned for 3 days at Shiroor's Moola Mutt. According to foresnic team has reached the mutt premises.

    Earlier, the press release by Manipal's Kasturba hospital stated that Lakshmivara Tirtha Swami of Shiroor Mutt died after consuming the poisonous substance. Toxicological samples had been sent for examination.

    When being asked if Shiroor Mutt seer Lakshmivara Teertha Swami died of poisoning, Dr Ravi Shetty, KMC Hospital in Manipal, said, " I also suspect it, the blood shows it. But I can't confirm it. It can only be confirmed by the forensic team."

    Lakshmivara Tirtha Swami (55) passed away at Kasturba hospital on Thursday.
