Kutte Bahut Ho Gaye Hai: Jaipur Municipal Corporation's Complaints Page Leaves Internet In Splits

While government websites are typically staid and straightforward, the website of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation deviates from the norm. Recently, social media users were amused to discover the complaints page on the website, which features a long list of complaints written in Hindi.

Residents of Jaipur can easily register their concerns, whether they are worried about the increasing stray dog population ("Kutte Bahut Ho Gaye Hai") or the illegal renting of residential properties for commercial purposes ("Marriage Hall Chal Raha Hai").

One X user commented, "The developer of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation website is crazy," while sharing a screenshot of the complaints form. The form includes animal-related complaints such as "Bandar Bahut Ho Gaye Hai" (too many monkeys) and "Kutta Pagal Ho Gaya Hai Pakadwana Hai" (need to catch a rabid dog).

Another X user, podcast host Anurag Verma, shared a video of the complaints page, stating, "Jaipur Municipal Corporation doing it right."

Despite the amusement of thousands of social media users at the use of casual slang, the website is receiving praise for its accessible language.

"I don't understand what's the problem here. This is common-speak. This is the language that your neighbor and my neighbor speak. If the most basic citizen wants to lodge a complaint, this will make it easy for them," wrote X user Apoorv Jain.

"Amazing developer. Making it simple for others to consume," another user commented with laughing face emojis.

"This is the most user-friendly website I have seen. They speak the language of common people, which makes it useful," added a third user.

One person simply wrote, "Kutta pagal ho gaya hai pakadwana hai" with a string of laughing face emojis.

Another user opined, "This is the best example of how a portal should be. Tailor-made for users, simple to use, and to the point. I know the on-ground worker has all the necessary info about the issue, which he understands. No English, no confusion."
