Kohli Bids Farewell To Red-Ball Cricket, Visits Vrindavan With Anushka Sharma

On Tuesday, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, travelled to Vrindavan to seek the blessings of spiritual leader Premanand Ji Maharaj, one day after he announced his retirement from Test cricket. A video of the couple's visit has gone viral online, highlighting their spiritual side.

Kohli and Anushka have visited Vrindavan several times throughout the years and are well-known devotees of Premanand Ji Maharaj. To get blessings from the spiritual guru, the couple had gone to Vrindavan earlier in January with their kids, Vamika and Akaay.

In an emotional Instagram post on Monday, Kohli declared his retirement from red-ball cricket. "I've been wearing the baggy blue in Test cricket for 14 years now," he added. To be honest, I had no idea the path this format would lead me down. It has put me to the test, moulded me, and given me lifelong lessons.

Many Bollywood celebs shared tweets and anecdotes on social media after his declaration, showing their support and appreciation for Kohli. Reflecting on her husband's struggle, Anushka Sharma also sent a poignant statement on her Instagram account.

The 36-year-old Kohli had a remarkable Test career, participating in 123 games and amassing 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85 in 210 innings. Thirty-one half-centuries and thirty centuries are included in his total. After the greats Sachin Tendulkar (15,921 runs), Rahul Dravid (13,265), and Sunil Gavaskar (10,122 runs), he ended his career as India's fourth-highest run scorer in Test cricket.
