Kiren Rijiju, PV Sindhu Team Up For A Friendly Badminton Match | WATCH

Indian badminton star PV Sindhu recently teamed up with Kiren Rijiju, the Member of Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh, for a friendly badminton match in support of the Fit India Movement at the Constitution Club in New Delhi on Saturday.

The 29-year-old shuttler, who married Sai, the Executive Director of Posidex, on December 22 in an intimate ceremony in Udaipur, Rajasthan, was spotted playing doubles with Rijiju, who has long been a supporter of her career.

A couple of weeks after her wedding, Sindhu is still striving to regain her peak form.

After relocating to Bengaluru and training under the legendary Prakash Padukone at the end of last year, she made several changes to her coaching team. However, early exits from tournaments have continued to highlight her ongoing struggles with form and fitness.

While Sindhu showed glimpses of her former brilliance by reaching the Malaysia Masters final, her hopes of winning an Olympic treble were dashed by a pre-quarterfinal exit, marking her first medal-less season in eight years.

The 29-year-old from Hyderabad did, however, end the season on a high note by clinching the Syed Modi International title and is now looking forward to the next chapter of her life after her marriage.

Regarded as one of India's greatest athletes, Sindhu has won five World Championship medals, including a gold in 2019, as well as silver and bronze at the Olympic Games.

She also made history by winning back-to-back Olympic medals at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 and reached a career-high world ranking of No. 2 in 2017.
