BJP Set to Fall Short of 200 Seats, INDIA Alliance to Triumph with Over 300: Kharge

At a significant political rally held at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) ground, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge made a bold prediction about the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would not secure more than 200 seats, while the opposition INDIA bloc is poised to win over 300 seats. Kharge's assertion underscores a perceived undercurrent of dissatisfaction with the Narendra Modi government.

BJP Under 200, INDIA Over 300: Kharge

The rally saw the participation of key allies including Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and NCP SP President Sharad Pawar. These leaders echoed Kharge's sentiments, criticizing the current administration for various policy failures and alleging neglect towards pressing issues such as employment generation and inflation control.

Kharge accused Prime Minister Modi of neglecting the needs of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes, alleging a deliberate attempt to keep these communities in poverty without reservations. Echoing this sentiment, Kejriwal criticized Modi's approach towards political opposition, while Thackeray expressed confidence that Modi would not return as Prime Minister post the election results on June 4.

The Congress President also took a jab at Modi's comments on inheritance tax and questioned the Prime Minister's statesmanship. He credited his party for preserving democracy in India, enabling Modi's rise to power, and vowed that the INDIA alliance would protect the Constitution.

Further criticism came from Uddhav Thackeray, who accused Modi of harboring a grudge against Maharashtra and attempting to impoverish Mumbai to benefit Gujarat. He also highlighted the BJP's discomfort with Muslim support for the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra, accusing them of labeling the minority community as infiltrators.

Sharad Pawar reminisced about the contributions of previous governments to strengthen parliamentary democracy and expressed concerns over the current election being pivotal for saving the Constitution and fundamental rights. He accused the Modi administration of using power to suppress dissent.

The rally also featured video messages from Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who appealed to the public to safeguard democracy and the Constitution. Additionally, Kejriwal shared his experience of being arrested under Modi's regime, attributing it to his government's success in delivering quality education and healthcare in Delhi.

This gathering ahead of the May 20 polling for the remaining 13 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, including six in Mumbai, highlighted a united front from opposition leaders against the BJP-led central government. Their collective stance signals a crucial phase in Indian politics as parties gear up for a fiercely contested election.
