Kerala: Jailed, but available on Facebook?!

Kerala
Kozhikkode, Dec 2: In a shocking revelation in Kerala, the main accused in the high profile Chandrasekharan murder case was found active on Facebook, leaving no space for imagination that convicts of the Kozhikkode jail have access to devices like smartphones.

A law-and-order embarassment for the Congress-led government, it has also set new examples of the luxury that the convicts (supporting DYFI or the CPI) have in jail.

As per a report by Firstpost, a gang of contract killers were available on Facebook and their profiles updated until recently. A cyber examination confirmed that the prisoners were constantly accessing emails and Facebook profiles through fast internet facilities. In fact, they shared photos from jail, shared messages, liked pictures etc.

This, and many other cases where victims were allowed to meet their families outside the jail proximities on the pretext of medical examination show the law-and-order in a bad taste. Despite raids and inspections, these instances have not been affected.
