Kerala's Industrial Growth Accelerated by Improved Infrastructure and Investment-Friendly Policies

Kerala's Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, highlighted the state's improved infrastructure as a catalyst for industrial growth. Speaking to IT company representatives before the Invest Kerala Global Summit, he noted that better facilities have made the state more appealing to investors. The Left government prioritises connectivity and is enhancing transport systems to support this goal.

Keralas Industrial Growth Driven by Investments

Efforts are underway to accelerate airport development in Kozhikode and Kannur with central government collaboration. The Sabarimala Airport project is also progressing, according to Vijayan. He mentioned ongoing construction of airstrips and road improvements as part of these initiatives. Water transport systems like the Kochi Water Metro and Kovalam-Bekal National Waterway are expected to boost industrial opportunities.

Investment-Friendly Initiatives

Vijayan emphasised plans to make Kerala more attractive for investors by leveraging its educational and human resources. These strategies aim to draw professionals while retaining local talent. Establishing quality institutions is crucial, with proposals for three new IT corridors in the pipeline. Kerala's leadership in the startup sector and new industrial institutions offer hope for future growth.

The Chief Minister addressed queries from representatives regarding AI and related industries, confirming Kerala's readiness for advancement in these areas. He also agreed on the need for more flights to enhance connectivity with Europe, acknowledging requests from meeting attendees.

Support for Investors

Vijayan urged meeting participants, who were pleased with Kerala's investment climate, to act as ambassadors for the state. He assured them that investors and industrial entities are vital to society and promised government support in overcoming any challenges they face.

The Chief Minister reiterated that Kerala's focus on connectivity includes improving transport facilities. This commitment is evident in projects like airport development and enhancements in road and water transport systems. Such efforts aim to create a conducive environment for industrial growth.

Vijayan concluded by highlighting Kerala's potential as an investment hub due to its skilled workforce and educational assets. The state's proactive measures are designed to attract both domestic and international investors, fostering a vibrant industrial landscape.
