Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told media persons that reservation for economically weaker sections in the Devaswom Board.
The Kerala cabinet has decided to implement reservation for economically backward people from forward communities in Devaswom Board. The board is a socio-religious trust that comprises members nominated by both government and community. The four Kerala Devaswoms (Guruvayur, Travancore, Malabar, and Cochin) together manage nearly 3000 temples.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told media persons that reservation for economically weaker sections in the Devaswom Board.
CM Vijayan further said that cabinet didn't discuss Thomas Chandy's issue. "Today I had a discussion with Thomas Chandy and NCP's TP Peethambaran, NCP will discuss it with their central leaders and inform their decision," he said.
The Kerala High Court dismissed a petition by Transport Minister Thomas Chandy challenging a report by the Alappuzha Collector on the alleged encroachments by a company in which he has a stake.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) State leadership has sought time for discussions with their national leadership before a decision on the demand for Transport Minister Thomas Chandy's resignation is taken.
