Kejriwal says Modi govt has lost connect with people

Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that the Central government's decision not to roll back the demonetisation move showed that it has lost its connect with the people.

New Delhi, Nov 18: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that the Central government's decision not to roll back the demonetisation move showed that it has lost its connect with the people.

Kejriwal and his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee on Thursday warned of a public revolt if demonetisation move was not rolled back in three days.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday clarified there was "no question of rolling back" the demonetisation move and accused Kejriwal and Banerjee of "spreading panic".

The Central government on November 8 has demonetised 500 and 1,000 rupee notes in a bid to curb black money and counterfeit currency.
