Kejriwal has become a dream merchant: BJP on his London remark
New Delhi, Mar 6: A day after Arvind Kejriwal promised to transform Delhi into London if his party wins the MCD polls next month, BJP on Monday said the Chief Minister is selling "unreal dreams" to people in the national capital.

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari also charged former chief minister Sheila Dikshit and the Congress party of making "false promises" and selling "unreal dreams" to the people. He accused both the parties of having "no intention" of doing anything, and said that "like Kejriwal", Dikshit too had "promised to make the city like Paris". "Neither Dikshit had any intention to do anything nor Arvind Kejriwal has any intentions to develop Delhi," he said. Tiwari asked Kejriwal as to what steps have been taken by his government to develop the city on the lines of London.
"What efforts have been made by departments of Delhi government to regularise unauthorised colonies, solve problems of urban villages, boost transport system, beautify roads and make the city green," he asked. "It seems that Arvind Kejriwal has become a dream merchant," he said in a statement.
Tiwari accused the Congress of financially "weakening" the three municipal corporations in the city. Meanwhile, the Delhi Congress in the presence of former union finance minister P Chidambaram and state party chief Ajay Maken today released its blueprint for "fiscally, self-reliant MCDs".
Tiwari said that BJP welcomes the concerns of every political party for the betterment of the people here, but, "like Kejriwal", Congress leaders too have started selling "dreams" to the people in view of the municipal elections. "Congress was in power at the Centre as well as in Delhi and the MCD from 2004 to 2007 and Ajay Maken was part of that government. He should tell what his party did on the lines of what they are suggesting today," he said.
The MCD was trifurcated in 2012 by the Congress-led government when Maken was a Union minister and Chidambaram the finance minister but they "did not care for" the economic stability of the corporations, he alleged.
