Kejriwal calls Delhi gas chamber, wants schools, colleges shut
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today took to social media platform - Twitter - to speak about the depravity of air pollution in the national capital by calling it 'gas chamber', and asked schools and colleges to be shut down for the same.

The NGT has also issued notices to Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana Government to follow intructions and inform about the prevention adopted to curtail the pollution menace.
The CM had also sought a meeting with environment and climate change minister to discuss the solution to the increasing pollution level in the national capital.
Prior to this, Delhi saw a steep detorioration in the air quality after 2017 Diwali in spite of the ban on sale of fire crackers by the Supreme Court. The same problem was faced in 2016 and schools, colleges had to be closed.
Deputy CM Manish Sisodia at a press conferene said, "If need arises, and the situation goes worse, the government is to go ahead with measures for Graded Action Plan- banning entry of trucks, ban in construction and Odd Even formular for vehicular movement."
Advisory has been issued to all mornin walkers, high risk groups like small children, elderly, pregnant patiens ect to stay away from pollution/outdoor activities during early morning and evening hours.
Delhi Government also advised citizens not to burn dry leaves, crop residue, wood, coal etc. Use of car pooling and public transport has been advised to the people apart from other measures to be taken.
