Jammu and Kashmir BJP spokesman Rajiv Pandita welcomed the passage of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Amendment Bill, which seeks to nominate two members from the Kashmiri migrant community and one representing the displaced persons from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to the legislative assembly. Union Home Minister's Statement

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while speaking during the debate on the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Amendment Bill and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Amendment Bill, said that the two bills linked to Jammu and Kashmir tabled by the Union government in the parliament aim to provide justice to those deprived of their rights for over 70 years. He also mentioned that the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits could have been averted if terrorism had been tackled without considering vote-bank politics.
