Karnataka: Rs 3,000 pension announced for women victims of acid attack
Bengaluru, Sept 23: The Karnataka government will provide Rs 3,000 pension per month to women who will be victims of acid attacks.
According to a TOI report, "This pension facility will be provided for acid attack victims till the end of their life. The minister announced new initiatives taken up by the state government, during a seminar on 'Anganwadis - Partnerships and Opportunities', organised by an NGO here on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Delhi government had said that it will provide free treatment to victims of acid attack in private hospitals across the national capital.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has appointed his OSD as the nodal authority to coordinate the treatment of the victims.
"Acid attack victims will be provided free treatment in private hospitals by the Delhi government. The Health Minister has appointed his OSD as the nodal authority to coordinate the treatment of 35 victims," Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal said.
"Their treatments are going on a daily basis and many of them have spent a lot of money on that. So the aim is to provide them free treatment in the best hospitals," Maliwal said.
She said a task force will be set up to monitor their treatment and to take steps to prevent such incidents.
