K'taka: No place in hospital, woman delivers under a tree
Kolar, June 12: The sorry state of healthcare in Karnataka can be imagined from this one case. A woman gave birth under a tree in the hospital premises when she was sent back by the Sri Narasimharaja Hospital on Thursday.
Bhagyamma had taken admission in the hospital for delivery on Wednesday but were asked to go to a private nursing home the very next day. A resident of Karamanahalli in Bangarpet taluk, she and her family members were told that the delivery would not be normal and needed advanced expertise.

They further said that her life and the foetus would be in danger if she delivered here.
On THursday, when she was being shifted to a private hospital, she felt the labour pain just outside the hospital. She was brought under a tree in the hospital premises with the help of other women. She gave birth to a baby girl. Later, both the baby and the mother were admitted to a private hospital.
Her family members charged the hospital with negligence, asking,"if there was a problem, how come she had a normal delivery?"
