Karnataka elections: C fore survey predicts 45 per cent vote share for Congress
The latest survey conducted by C fore suggests that the Congress will romp home comfortably in Karnataka with anything between 118 to 128 seats. The survey released on Monday says that the BJP would end up with 63 to 73 while the JD(S) would bag 29 to 36.
In terms of the vote share, the survey says that the Congress would bag 45 per cent with an 8 per cent swing. The BJP with a 12 per cent swing would bag 32 per cent of the vote share. This is an increase for the BJP compared to 2013 considering it is a united front today.
The JD(S) vote share drops by 2 per cent and the overall percentage the survey says would be at 18. In the case of the others it would be 5 per cent with a drop of 18 per cent when compared to the previous elections.
In a release, C fore said that it conducted the pre-poll survey in Karnataka between April 20th and 30th, 2018 . Systematic random sampling methodology was used in selecting respondents for the survey. In all 6247 voters were interviewed from 61 assembly constituencies covering all regions using a structured questionnaire. Care was taken to ensure that different castes and communities were represented in the sample in their actual proportion. The survey has a margin of error of 2 percentage point at 95 percent confidence level.
