Karnataka: Doctors continue protest against KPME act
The protest was started on the first day of the 10-day winter session of Karnataka Legislature, which began on Monday.
A day after Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured discussion, the Doctors of Private Hospitals Association and Indian Medical Association continued their protest on Tuesday against KPME Act in Belgaum.

Dr Ravindra, IMA Karnataka President, had threatened to go on fast unto death if the government passed the act.
The Karnataka government has begun a process to amend Karnataka Private Medical Establishment Act (KPME) to regulate the charges for treatment in private clinics and hospitals. It is alleged that some hospitals were charging exorbitantly.
