Karnataka bypoll: Mahila Congress President caught on camera distributing money

The video that is doing the rounds is said to be from Hannurkeri village of Gundlupet constituency. The video that has been shot in stealth shows the Karnataka Congress women's wing president seated with other women leaders of the Congress and handing out notes.

The video comes days after BJP's K S Eshwarappa alleged that the Congress was paying Rs 4,000 per voter in assembly constituencies of Gundlupet and Nanjangud where bypolls are scheduled to be held on April 9. Eshwarappa had alleged that D K Shivakumar was distributing money to voters in violation of the model code of conduct.

Hebbalkar is not new to controversies. The chief of Congress' women's wing was raided by the Income Tax department on January 19, earlier this year. Officials of the IT department raided Hebbalkar's Belagavi residence.
