New Delhi, Mar 1: Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's divorce case is getting complicated with each passing day after she filed a harassment case against husband Sunjay.

The actress had married Delhi-based businessman Sunjay Kapur in 2003, however, things are turning nasty between the two.

Karisma Kapoor alleges domestic violence

According to a TOI report, "Recently, during the hearing of their divorce case, Karisma, in her plea, told that after her pregnancy when she was unable to fit into a dress, Sunjay asked her mother-in-law to slap her. According to her, Sunjay told her mother, "Why don't you just slap her?" She also mentioned that her mother-in-law did not condemn her son for being rude, but instead has been "supporting his philandering lifestyle." The actress also accused Sunjay of leaving their ill son to play polo once."

According to the daily she also said, "He (Karisma's husband) was residing with another woman in Delhi with that woman's child while still being married to her (Karisma)".

Karisma Kapoor has filed a dowry harassment case against her estranged husband Sunjay Kapur and mother-in-law. Karisma has separated from Sunjay for over five years and is fighting a legal battle for divorce and custody of their two children - Samaira and Kiaan.

She had filed the case against Sunjay and his mother, Rani, who holds the family finances, earlier this week, a senior police officer said. Based on the statement of the Bollywood star, Khar Police registered an FIR yesterday under IPC section 498-A (husband or relative of the husband's woman subjecting her to cruelty, section 34 (common intention), he said.

The couple had initially filed for divorce on the ground of mutual consent. But Karishma withdrew her consent from the petition in November last year, claiming that Sunjay was unable to meet the financial commitment. They then filed a fresh divorce application. The case is currently pending in Bandra family court.
