Kangana Ranaut's Big Statement On Jaya Bachchan

Kangana Ranaut, known for her candid opinions, recently surprised many by praising Jaya Bachchan. Despite their past disagreements, Kangana described Jaya as the most 'dignified' woman in the film industry. This comes after Kangana criticized Jaya for being upset over being called 'Jaya Amitabh Bachchan' during a Parliamentary session earlier this month.

In an interview, Kangana acknowledged Jaya's impressive film choices and her representation in Parliament. She highlighted how Jaya has consistently advocated for women's advancement. "Jaya Bachchan ji is a very reputed actor of our film industry. Honestly, she's known for her short temper, but at the same time, I'd like to give her the acknowledgement and due credit that in those times... you can imagine that in the 1970s, at a time when women had to roast their skin in the (harsh) lighting, she did films like Guddi back then," Kangana said.

Kangana's Perspective on Jaya's Influence

Kangana further praised Jaya for promoting women's empowerment through her work. She remarked on how Jaya carries herself with dignity in Rajya Sabha, expressing pride in having such representation from the film industry. "She sent a message of women empowerment through that. And even after that... she's one of the most dignified women in the film industry. The way she carries herself in Rajya Sabha, I feel very good that we have this kind of representation from the film industry," she added.

Reflecting on past incidents, Kangana recalled when Jaya reprimanded her and Ravi Kishan over their comments about drugs in Bollywood. Kangana likened it to an elder family member scolding younger ones. This incident was part of a broader discussion initiated by Jaya during a 2020 Parliamentary speech regarding attacks on those working in the film industry following Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

Jaya Bachchan's Cinematic Journey

Jaya Bachchan began her acting career with Satyajit Ray's 1963 film Mahanagar and made her Hindi debut with Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Guddi in 1971. She soon married Amitabh Bachchan and starred alongside him in notable films like Silsila, Abhimaan, Mili, Zanjeer, and Sholay. Her return to mainstream cinema came with Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in the early 2000s. Most recently, she appeared in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, released in 2023.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut's upcoming political drama 'Emergency' has received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, she has yet to announce its new release date after initially planning for September 13.
