When the matter came up for hearing today before a packed court hall, the Delhi police opposed the bail plea filed by Kumar. The court then ordered the Delhi police to file a status report of the investigation into the case by tomorrow while adjourning proceedings.
The Delhi police has made it clear that bail should not be granted to Kumar as the investigations are still on. The Delhi police in a report prepared on the JNU incident said that Kumar was part of the group that was raising anti national slogans.
The police also said that if bail is granted at this juncture, then it would hamper the investigations.
